The One Village Collaboration aims to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and families in Greater Shepparton by increasing engagement and participation in key primary services.
What the One Village Family Engagement service provides:
The service supports Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander families to connect with the Maternal & Child Health Nurse Service, Playgroups, Kindergartens and Primary Schools with support from the Family Engagement Worker. The Family Engagement service role is to link families to the appropriate services and identify any barriers that families may be experiencing. The Family Engagement Worker is not a Case Manager, but may refer disengaged families to appropriate services for additional support.
Who is eligible for this service?
This service is available for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander families who are finding it hard to attend the Maternal Child Health Nurse Service, Playgroups, Kindergartens or Primary Schools in Greater Shepparton.
Is a referral needed for this service?
Referrals, with parental consent, are accepted from Health Care providers, Early Childhood organisations and Local Community Agencies.
Parents may also self-refer.
