What the IAWA Family Engagement service provides:
The service supports Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander families to access and connect with Antenatal Services, Maternal & Child Health Nurse Service, Playgroups, Kindergartens and Primary Schools with support from the Family Engagement Worker.
The Family Engagement Worker role is to provide support to families to link in with required services. They are not a Case Manager, but will assist families to access appropriate services for additional support.
Who is eligible for this service?
This service is available for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander families who are finding it hard to access or attend Antenatal Services, Maternal & Child Health Nurse Service, Playgroups, Kindergartens or Primary Schools in Greater Shepparton.
How to access this service?
Parents and families can contact the Family Engagement Worker directly for support.
Referrals, with parental consent, are accepted from Health Care providers, Early Childhood organisations and Local Community agencies.
