The State of Greater Shepparton’s Children Report was initially created in 2014 through a partnership between Best Start, Communities for Children and Greater Shepparton Lighthouse Project. Since it’s development, the report has been utilised by a range of community stakeholders and has informed strategic working priorities across sectors. In 2019 the working party reformed to revisit the data, leading to the development of an updated report extending on the work completed in 2014. We hope that this report continues to be utilised by our community, informing current and future work priorities to create sustainable change to improve the lives and trajectories of all children and young people in Greater Shepparton.
Please join us to celebrate the release of the document and the continuation of our community journey collaboratively utilising data.
We welcome Liana Buchanan Principal Commissioner for Children and Young People to Greater Shepparton to celebrate the launch of our report.
Liana has held a range of roles focused on oversight and system reform for people experiencing disadvantage and those affected by family and sexual violence. These roles include Director, Office of Correctional Services Review, Executive Officer of the Federation of Community Legal Centres and roles in the Equal Opportunity Commission, Department of Justice and Women’s Legal Service (S.A).
