Train the Trainer – An introduction to Trauma and Adversity
The National Workforce Centre for Child Mental Health has been established to assist professionals and organisations who work with children and/or parents/families to have the skills to identify, assess and support children at risk of mental health conditions. Emerging Minds leads the National Workforce Centre for Child Mental Health, delivered in partnership with the Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS), the Australian National University (ANU), the Parenting Research Centre (PRC) and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).
This train the trainer workshop will be provided by Emerging Minds and is designed for professional and volunteers working with children and/or their families. The training session will provide you an in-depth dive of the content with the skills and knowledge and how to facilitate this within your own workplace. The core outcome of the training is to provide participants with a foundational understanding of trauma and adversity; the impact they can have on children; and the ways in which a trauma-informed approaches can support recovery.
